FLO CoRe+ Level 2 EV Charger Installation Project

August 26, 2020

Amongst several other green and energy-efficient initiatives, our client has recently made a push to promote and support electric vehicles as part of their wide range of fleet vehicles. During a pilot project 2 years ago, we previously installed two Level 2 EV Chargers at their Nisku and Calgary locations. Due to the success of the project, advancements in EVs, and the cooperation of staff, they have begun installing their fleet charging solutions at their various locations.

BLDG recently installed a FLO CoRe+ Level 2 EV Charger at their Edmonton location. This versatile EV charger is Canadian-made to withstand our harsh climate.

It’s durable aluminum casing is NEMA 4x rated and it is certified to operate at temperatures ranging from -40 to +50 C.

It has built-in energy management features such as Power Sharing, Power Limiting, and remote control of the station for a completely customized user experience.

Charging is authenticated through an RFID card or the FLO mobile app. The owner will have access to a dedicated web portal for station management and usage tracking.

Currently, this charger will be set up for fleet charging only, however, due to the fact that it is connected to one of North America’s largest EV Charging networks, the owner can put the charger online for public use at any time in the future.

This could be an alternate revenue stream for the owner as they can bill the public to charge their EVs at the location.

This install also qualified for Edmonton’s current EV Charger rebate (see details and links to the Edmonton EV Charger Rebate). As a result, Western Road and Bridge Building Company can look forward to a rebate of $2,000 per charger from the City of Edmonton once the application goes through the 4-week review process.
